Sports Authority of India (SAI)
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) an apex National Sports body set up in 1984 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of Government of India for the development of sport in India.
SAI has 2 Sports Academic institutions, 10 “SAI Regional Centres” (SRC), 14 “Centre of Excellence” (COE/COX), 56 “Sports Training Centres” (STC) and 20 “Special Area Games” (SAG) spread across the country.
Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG)
Sports Authority of Gujarat is a State sports body set up by Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities department of Government of Gujarat. SAG is the subsidiary of SAI and is affiliated to the same. It was established to facilitate implementation of state and national policies with respect to sports and to encourage and spread awareness about sports in the state of Gujarat.
Sports Authority of Gujarat is a unique body as it has developed its own Sports Policy which includes various policies that spreads awareness of sports across different sections of society, resulting in character building and inclusive development and to identify and nurture the sporting talent in Gujarat and give them the opportunity to shine in the global sports arena by creating sports centric, incentivized eco-system for all stakeholders.
Gujarat State Chess Association (GSCA)
Gujarat State Chess Association is the official body of Chess for the State of Gujarat, affiliated with All India Chess Affiliation and World Chess Federation.
The entire World Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad tournament is being organised by GSCA. GSCA being the head of the chess federation in Gujarat, has got the opportunity for hosting the tournament. GSCA has already been conducting many chess tournaments within the state. GSCA has a dedicated team which always strives to bring out the best of the talent in the state.
A prestigious name known among the most known clubs and recreational organizations of Ahmedabad is ‘The Karnavati Club’. The club, with an area of 5,00,000 sq.feet is located on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway. The club was established in 1989. And today, it is an ultimate success in the arena of recreational clubs.
The club is a social tree comprising almost all the known and prominent personalities of the city. And thus becoming a platform of social and commercial interactions and set-ups.
The Karnavati Club has affiliation to most of the clubs at prominent cities all over the country. The club keeps heading with the time constantly upgrading itself with its services and commitments. With the unmatched comforts and other facilities, the club has the maximum number of members and the highest success rate, which is constantly rising. The club has all the recreational facilities with the latest technology which makes it state of the art.
Gujarat State Co-operative Bank (GSCB)
The GSC Bank is the scheduled apex bank of Gujarat. GSC currently has around 28 lac farmers who are account holders. GSCB has a consistent history of receiving awards from NAFSCOB for its best overall performance and corporate governance. It has been receiving such awards in the past as well as for last four consecutive years.
The bank also established a Farmers Hostel in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar having 58 rooms with capacity of 300 persons with in house catering facility at a concessional rate. By establishing / providing such facility Bank’s aim is to provide affordable accommodation in Ahmedabad city to the farmers.
GSCB is a modernized bank and has adopted the latest technologies in the field of internet banking. It has obtained membership of RTGS and NEFT services. Cheque truncation system also has been adopted to enable easy and fast clearing.
GSCB provides encouragement, guidance and facilitates refinancing for Self Help Groups (SHG).An amount of Rs.16.35 crores has been provided to Total 30652 Self Help Groups (SHG).
Ahmedabad District Co-Operative Bank Ltd (ADC Bank Ltd)
The ADC Bank is a vibrant bank of the vibrant Gujarat. The bank with 89 years of its presence in and around Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Botad Districts has catered to the banking needs of the farmers and other villagers.
